Joy traveled to Brussels with the International Education of Students (IES) European Union (EU) Program in 1998. In two days the group managed to pack in visits to the Council of the European Union, European Commission, NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), and US Mission to the European Union
Joy's fondest memories are of eating fine chocolates at a small, open air stall near the golden square known as Grote Markt.
